The Cannibalist Manifesto #004 (21 April 2011)
A special episode for this week’s installment of The Cannibalist Manifesto on Space Invader Radio.
As spring finally arrived in New York City, we ventured outside to create this week’s episode. Â More specifically, we made our way to The Trinity Church Cemetery & Mausoleum to assemble the mix live in various parts of the cemetery.
The Trinity Church Cemetery & Mausoleum–located in North Harlem–is one of the oldest in New York City as well as the only active cemetery in Manhattan (meaning people are still being interred there); it provided excellent inspiration. So, along with new tunes and/or new remixes from MF Doom, James Pants, Salem, Memory House, Mono/poly and more, we also visit some notable grave sites over the course of the show, including the grave of the son of Charles Dickens and a peak inside one of the cemetery’s older tombs (which just happened to be open when we were there).
Photos of the graves visited (in order of appearance):
- Alfred Tennyson Dickens
- Palmer Family Grave Plot
- Sechrist Family Tomb
- Sarah Barnes
- The NY Juvenile Asylum
